Japanese antelope of the snow mountain

友人と冬の八ヶ岳登山中に出会ったニホンカモシカ。

登山道脇からしばらくの間、じっとこちらを見ていた。

厳冬季のカリブー

Caribou of the cold winter

厳冬期のアラスカ北極圏の朝。−４０℃まで下がっている。

しかし、カリブー達はいつもと変らぬように平然と過ごしている。

雪を掘り起こして地表の草や地衣類を食べて長く厳しい冬を生きる。

Caribou digs up snow of the ground under severe environment and eats grass and lives in severe winter for a long time.

夕暮れ時の浜辺にオオワシがたくさん集っていました。

集まっている訳はこれね。

死んだアザラシを目当てにオオワシとオジロワシ、カモメ、カラスが集まっている。

流氷がまだ接岸しないこの時期は、定置網に引っかかったアザラシと棄てられた雑魚目当てにここに集まっているのかな。

This time, Steller's sea eagle and White-tailed sea eagle that drift ice does not come may come here for fish and seal thrown away in the beach.
